ASF hosts a variety of programs (lectures, book talks, exhibition openings, concerts, plays, community celebrations) exploring the diverse history, culture, and traditions of Sephardim. ASF’s signature event each year is the NY Sephardic Jewish Film Festival. Thought the poignant medium of film, the 19th NY Sephardic Jewish Film Festival provided viewers with an understanding of the rich mosaic culture of Jews from the Middle East and Greater Sephardi Diaspora. Contemporary voices steeped in history and tradition were celebrated throughout this week-long series of events, including bestowal of the Pomegranate Award for Artistic Excellence.
