Yom HaPlitim: Honoring Jewish Refugees from the Arab World
The American Sephardi Federation and the Moise Safra Center present:
Yom HaPlitim: Honoring and Celebrating the Jewish Refugees from Arab and Muslim-Majority Lands
An Evening of Stories, History, Culture, and Community
Join us for an evening honoring the history & enduring legacy of Jewish communities across the Middle East & North Africa. For centuries, these communities preserved and enriched Jewish tradition while shaping the cultural life of the region. We’ll remember the nearly 1 million Jews displaced from Arab & Muslim majority countries in the 20th century, celebrate the traditions & heritage they carried forward, & explore how their stories shape Jewish life, Israel, & the Middle East today.
Featuring the Israeli ambassador, prominent Sephardic community leaders, historians, and contemporary changemakers, the evening will include an engaging one-hour program, interactive cultural experiences, and a festive celebration of Sephardic and MENA heritage.
