For over forty years, the Institut du Monde Arabe (IMA) has been standing among Paris’ major cultural institutions and striving to promote and spread Arab culture in all its forms, with more than one million visitors per year.

As a place of exchange, initiative, reflection, and cultural dynamism, the IMA offers a highly diverse program of international exhibitions, concerts, film screenings, conferences, and language courses for a broad audience.

The IMA is partnering with the American Sephardi Federation (ASF) to promote dialogue between cultures, heighten awareness of shared history, and for a groundbreaking exhibition on “Juifs d’Orient: Une histoire plurimillénaire” (“Jews in Islamic Lands: A Multi-Millennial History”), which is a testament to the increasing integration of Jews back into the historical memory and contemporary Muslim cultural milieus.

The exhibition, which will be held in Paris from 24 November 2021 through 13 March 2022, will shed new light on the integral role that Jewish culture has played in the societies of the Arab world over the centuries. It will undoubtedly be a revelation for a wide audience and symbolizes the reassertion of classical Middle Eastern values.

The most prestigious museums worldwide, including the Israel Museum in Jerusalem, the British Museum in London, the Brooklyn Museum in New York, the Museum of Jewish Art and History (MAHJ) and the Louvre Museum in Paris, are represented in the exhibition’s collection.
